You may be familiar with the Joint Commission, but there are other independent accreditation organizations garnering respect in the healthcare industry. Acquiring multiple certifications and accreditations can improve a healthcare facility’s reputation for patient safety and quality of care. CyraCom’s experts researched Det Norske Veritas Healthcare, Inc. (DNV Healthcare) accreditation to help you compare your existing language services to the requirements and see where you can make improvements.

What is DNV Healthcare?

In 2008, DNV Healthcare became one of three nationally recognized hospital accrediting agencies for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation (CMS CoP) compliance, along with the Joint Commission and the American Osteopathic Association/Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP).

Why become accredited through DNV Healthcare?

DNV Healthcare has accredited over 500 US hospitals since it was approved by CMS in 2008, and its parent company has operations in over 100 countries and has certified or accredited close to 2,000 healthcare organizations internationally.

“Our accreditation requirements provide healthcare organizations with a clear framework for the improvement of patient safety and quality of care in a language that healthcare workers intuitively understand.” – DNV Healthcare

What does DNV Healthcare say about language services?

There are several guidelines facilities need to follow regarding language services. Here’s an overview of the requirements hospitals and facilities must meet:
